I learned early that hosting isn’t about performance. It’s about creating a space where people feel seen, where stories and silence are both welcome, and where time slows down just enough to let gratitude settle in.

When you style your Thanksgiving table this year, or any table, for any moment remember this:

• Think about how you want people to feel, not what you want them to think.
• Personal touches matter more than perfection. A handwritten name card can do more than the trendiest centerpiece.
• Warm lighting, shared dishes, and comfortable seating make people stay a little longer.
• Hosting is an offering. Receiving joy is part of the gift.
