With fall fast approaching, the to-do list growing longer, and the kids going back to school, it seems like the end of summer is right around the corner.
And what better way to celebrate the end of summer than hosting a party for your friends and family? After all, this may be the last chance to get together and soak in the lingering daylight hours.
Keep reading if you’ve been thinking of having your family and friends over for a goodbye summer party.
This article will help you put together the perfect goodbye-summer tablescape and ensure everyone has a fun and memorable last dinner together before the arrival of fall.
Make it easy for all your loved ones to attend your party by choosing an accessible location that both adults and kids can enjoy.
I love to play with white, greens, turquoise, and blues this time of the year when putting together my tablescapes.
I enjoy these colors because they pair perfectly well with gold, the bright sun, and the lovely flowers that are in season.

Music is a must when you’re trying to create a lively and friendly mood. If kids are attending, make sure to have a couple of fun activities for them to participate in.
If the party will run late, plan for appropriate lighting options for when the sun goes down. If you’re unsure what to prepare, fairy lights and lanterns are always a good idea.
No dinner is complete without good food. Make sure to have a range of delicious food options everyone can enjoy.
A potluck is also an excellent idea for an end of summer party if you’d like. It takes a bit of the preparation off your plate and everyone attending can contribute their favorites.
Don’t let your guests go home empty-handed. I always like to gift to those attending parts of the table centerpiece to reuse and remember the event by.
Finally, get inspired with my latest tablescapes below.
Cuisine: Asian
Colors: Cyan, turquoise and gold
Centerpiece: Moss, succulents & gold candles
You too can make this simple yet visually striking centerpiece.
The organic shape of the base was achieved using floral foam, newspaper, and plaster cloth gauze.
I then covered the entire surface in various types of moss and added a few succulents to create visual interest, depth, and contrast.
Finally, I refined the piece by adding gold candles.
Cuisine: Western
Colors: White, gold, and forest green
Centerpiece: Eucalyptus leaves, wildflowers, and gold candles
For this centerpiece, I selected a long, narrow, and shallow container to put in my floral foam.
I then added my candles and started shaping the centerpieces around them. Piece by piece, I added each eucalyptus strand and flower until I finished my creation to my liking.
You can’t go wrong with this one! Just trust the process and you’ll be satisfied with the results. Read this post to learn how to create the perfect centerpiece in 7 steps.
Cuisine: Western
Colors: White, yellow, and metallic blue
Centerpiece: Glass tubes and hydrangeas
I created this centerpiece to celebrate the last few weeks that the hydrangeas are in bloom this year.
Whenever you create your centerpiece, you want to make sure it fits perfectly in your setting and for this party, I had to work with long narrow tables.
For this centerpiece then, I started with a narrow base of floral foam and added glass tubes.
I finished off the piece by dressing the foam base with hydrangeas and adding strands of taller leaves and flowers to the glass tubes.
I ended up with this appealing, airy, and bright composition that the guests could not stop talking about.
I wish these tips and table settings help you to plan the perfect goodbye-summer party for your family and friends.
