When dreaming up the table decor for an event I came to call “City in Pink,” I knew I wanted to create something soft, feminine and above all, fun! The centerpiece ended up being the real showstopper.

I started by sourcing a collection of slender glass test tubes and linking them together into a circular shape. Into each test tube, I carefully inserted a single stem bearing a pink flower bud.

By varying the shades from pale ballerina pink to punchy fuchsia, the individual blooms created a visually dynamic yet coordinated ombre effect when viewed all together in the centerpiece ring.

For an extra lush look, I added a disc floral foam around the base and tucked in additional pink flora like waxflower stems and baby’s breath. This gave the centerpiece some lifted height and softer romantic textures.

Surrounding the showpiece centerpiece, I kept the rest of the table setting relatively simple, letting the white veiny marble top shine and pulling the theme together with pink chargers. This allowed the floral arrangement to really pop against the neutral canvas.

On party day, the centerpiece quite literally stopped guests in their tracks! The playful shape and design struck the perfect balance of feminine glamour and lighthearted whimsy that encapsulated the spirit of our theme.

I loved how this unconventional centerpiece proved you can have bold color and visual impact even with a relatively minimalist concept. Sometimes it just takes looking at materials a little differently!
